# Space settings and members

**Category:** [Wiki](https://help.totalctrl.app/hc/totalctrl/totalctrl-help-center/en-US/categories/wiki)
**Updated:** 2026-10-04

## Getting there

The **…** menu in a space → **Space Settings**. You need to be an admin of the space.
## Two roles

- **Admin** — can change the space's settings and manage its members.
- **Editor** — can create and edit pages.

**Add member** opens a dialog listing the people in your workspace who are not already in the space — pick one and choose their role. On an existing row, change the role from the dropdown or remove them.
## The last admin stays

The last admin of a space cannot be removed or demoted. A space with no admin is one nobody can change the settings of, including the settings that would let somebody fix it.
## Private and public spaces

A public space is readable by anybody in the workspace who has the Wiki app. A private space is readable by its members only. Either way, an individual page can be shared more widely or restricted more narrowly — see *Share a page*.
