# Share a page

**Category:** [Wiki](https://help.totalctrl.app/hc/totalctrl/totalctrl-help-center/en-US/categories/wiki)
**Updated:** 2026-10-04

## Opening it

**Share** sits beside Edit at the top of any page. There is no Save button — each change is stored as you make it, and every control shows what the server stored rather than what you clicked.
## General access

Three choices, and they replace the space's rules for this one page rather than sitting alongside them:

- **Same as the space** — the default. Whoever can read the space can read the page. A page nobody has shared behaves exactly as it always did.
- **Anyone in the workspace** — everybody, whether or not they are in the space. Choose *Can view* or *Can edit*.
- **Restricted to specific people** — nobody except the people you list below.

## Specific people

Search for a colleague by name, or type their email address, choose *Can view* or *Can edit*, and click **Add**. Different people can have different levels on the same page.

**Adding somebody can only ever give them more.** On a page the whole workspace can view, adding one person as an editor makes them an editor. It cannot be used to take access away from one person — a page that reads as open but silently excludes somebody is how people lose access for no visible reason.
## You cannot lock yourself out

A space admin and the page's author always keep edit, whatever the setting. Otherwise **Restricted** would be a trap: leave yourself off the list and the page is gone, with the control for fixing it behind the access you just removed.
## An address we do not recognize is reported

Sharing with people outside your workspace is not available yet, so an address that is not a colleague is named back to you rather than accepted. A dialog that says "Shared" while granting nobody anything is worse than one that refuses.

The button at the bottom copies the page's address. It does not change who can open it — check **General access** before sending a link to somebody who may not be able to read it.
## Where restrictions apply

Everywhere, not just on the page. A restricted page is left out of the sidebar tree, search results, the recent list, the space's table view and the page graph. A restriction that holds on the page but shows the title and excerpt in search is not a restriction.
