# Mission Control for a space

**Category:** [Wiki](https://help.totalctrl.app/hc/totalctrl/totalctrl-help-center/en-US/categories/wiki)
**Updated:** 2026-10-04

## What it is

**Mission Control** is the top-level view of a space: how much is in it, what is being read, and who is writing. It is read from the pages and the view records — no summary is generated and nothing is scheduled, so opening it costs nothing.
## What it shows

- **Activity** — views across the space for the window you choose, with trends for views, viewers, pages created and pages updated, each measured against the window immediately before it.
- **Content** — how many pages the space holds, the total word count, how many are verified and how many are archived.
- **Most read** — where attention is going.
- **Who writes here** — who has created or edited the most pages.
- **Needs review** — pages that have gone stale, oldest first.
- **Access** — whether the space is public or private, and who its members are.

## Using it

Two questions it answers well: *what is worth keeping current* — **Needs review** crossed with **Most read** is a heavily read page nobody has touched in a year — and *what nobody needs*, a page that has never appeared in Most read since it was written. Both are far easier to see here than by scrolling the tree.
## Who can open it

Anybody who can read the space. Its counts only ever include pages you are allowed to read.
