# Copy, move and archive a page

## Where to find them

The **…** menu on any page you can edit: **Copy**, **Move**, **Archive**, and a link to the space's **Archived pages**.
## Child pages travel with the parent

This is the thing to know before you do any of it. A page and everything beneath it move, copy, archive and restore **together**. Archiving a page with ten children archives all eleven.

They have to. A page is only reachable if every page above it is in the same space and not archived — so archiving a parent on its own would leave its children intact but with no way to navigate to them, which looks exactly like they were deleted.
## Copy

Choose the space and the parent for the copy. The copy takes the content and gets a fresh start on everything that is a claim about the original: it does not inherit the view count, and it is not marked verified. Nobody has read or checked a page that did not exist a second ago.
## Move

Choose a new space, a new parent, or both. A page cannot be moved inside itself or inside one of its own children — the picker leaves those out, and the move is refused if it is attempted anyway.
## Archive and restore

Archived pages leave the sidebar and search but are not deleted. **Archived pages** in the space lists them with a **Restore** control.

If you restore a page whose parent is still archived, it is moved to the top level of the space and the confirmation tells you so. Putting it back where it was would return it to a place nobody can reach, which reads as the restore having failed.
