# Put text over a background image

## Background image for the Text block

A **Text** block can now sit over an image. In the block's properties, alongside **Background Color** you'll find:

- **Background Image** — paste a URL or use the picker (upload, AI Generate, or Digital Assets). The image fills the block, centred and cropped to cover.
- **Text Color** — switch to white (or any colour) so your words stay legible over the image.
- **Darken image for readable text** — adds a subtle dark overlay between the image and your text, so text remains readable over busy or light photos.

Text blocks that use only a background colour are unchanged — the image options are optional.
