# Issue events now fire for issues created through the API

## The problem

Creating, changing or commenting on an issue **in the TotalCtrl interface** sent `issue.created`, `issue.updated` and so on — the events on the subscription page.

Doing the same thing **through the API** sent `edition.created`, `edition.updated` and so on. Those names were not on the subscription page, so nobody could tick them and nothing was ever delivered for them.

The effect: a webhook on "Issue created" told you about issues somebody typed in, and never about issues an integration created — which is usually the case the webhook was set up for. It was silent at both ends. Nothing errored, and the API call succeeded.

## What changed

The API sends the same event names as the rest of the app:

`edition.status_changed``issue.status_changed`
`edition.commented``issue.commented` (newly selectable)

`issue_project.updated``issues.project.updated`
`issue_project.deleted``issues.project.deleted`

The payloads are unchanged — only the `event` field in the envelope differs.

## Do you need to do anything?

Almost certainly not. The old names could never be subscribed to, so no existing endpoint was receiving them — there is nothing to migrate.

The one thing worth doing: if you have a webhook on `issue.created` and had noticed it missing issues, it will now fire for those too. Make sure your handler is ready for the extra volume, and for `issue.commented` if you subscribe to it.
