# Saving an output into Digital Assets

**Category:** [Video Hub](https://help.totalctrl.app/hc/totalctrl/totalctrl-help-center/en-US/categories/subtitles)
**Updated:** 2026-08-19

## Where it goes, and what it is called

Everything Video Hub makes can be filed into Digital Assets: an exported caption file, an AI dub, spoken audio, and a video with the captions burned in.

Press **Save to Assets** on any finished output and a dialog asks three things:

- **What to call it.** Include the extension — it decides what opens the file.
- **Where to put it.** Pick any folder, or leave it in All Assets.
- **Whether to make a folder.** Tick *Create a new folder* and type a name. If a folder with that name already exists, it is reused rather than duplicated, so two people exporting into “Exports” on the same afternoon land in the same place.

### The confirmation stays in the dialog

When it saves, the dialog shows what it created, where it went, and a link to open it in Digital Assets. The page underneath does not reload, so you keep your place and can save the next output straight away.
### Caption files: VTT or SRT

Saving a caption track asks which format you want before it writes anything. Both are generated from the same cues.
### Then caption the result

A joined or dubbed video saved into Digital Assets can be picked as the source of a new project — so “caption the video I just made” is a couple of clicks rather than a download and a re-upload.
