# Burn subtitles into the video

## Hardcode captions onto the picture

Burn-in renders a caption track permanently onto the video frames, so the output MP4 shows the subtitles with no separate SRT/VTT file — ideal for social platforms that don't support sidecar captions.

- Open a project. In the **Tracks** table, find the language you want and click **Burn in** in the *Burn-in* column (the track needs finished cues).
- Choose the look: **font size**, **position** (bottom or top), **colour** (white, yellow, or black), and **style** (outline, background box, or plain).
- If the language also has a finished **dub**, pick whether to burn onto the **original** video or the **dubbed** one — e.g. Spanish audio with Spanish captions in a single file.
- Click **Burn in**. It runs in the background — the row shows *Burning…* and flips to *Burned* when done, and you get a notification.

When it's ready, open the burn-in menu to **download** the video or **save it to Digital Assets**. You can keep several burns per track (e.g. one onto the original and one onto a dub).

Burn-in processes on a managed video service (no setup for you) and is metered per output minute against your plan's burn-in allowance. Until an admin enables it, the *Burn-in* column stays hidden.
