# Use AI tools on your assets

## What's available

From an asset's detail page you can run several AI-powered tools. They use your account's configured AI provider, and an admin can disable AI for this app at any time.

- **AI assistant** — ask a question or request about any asset (for example, "suggest a caption" or "summarize this document"). The assistant has the asset's title, type, filename, and description as context and returns text you can copy.
- **AI image generation and editing** — for image assets, describe how you want the picture changed and the tool returns a new version. You can keep iterating on the result, then **save it as a new asset** in the same folder.
- **Text extraction (OCR)** — for image assets up to 20 MB, pull all visible text out of the picture. Review and edit the result, then save it as a `.txt` document asset.
- **Video transcription** — for video assets, generate subtitles in `VTT` or `SRT` format. Transcription runs in the background; when it finishes, the captions are saved as a new document asset in the same folder.

## Good to know

- AI-generated images and saved transcripts inherit the source asset's permission and folder.
- Prompts are screened for safety and prompt-injection; explicit or disallowed image requests are blocked.
- Tagging is manual — add or edit tags on the upload or edit screens; see [Upload and organize assets](upload-and-organize-assets).
