# Summarize and export notes

## Generate an AI summary

Any note with content can be summarized by AI. In the editor, open the **AI Generate** menu and choose a template that matches the note:

- **General** — title, summary, action items, and key topics.
- **Meeting** — also captures decisions made.
- **Interview** — also captures notable quotes and highlights.
- **Lecture / Talk** — also captures key takeaways.
- **Brainstorm** — captures every distinct idea.
- **Journal** — reflective tone, no action items.

The summary, action items, and key topics are saved back onto the note. You can re-run with a different template at any time. If your workspace has not set up an AI model yet, you'll be prompted to configure one in settings.
## Export a note

Use the **Export** button to download a note as a **Word (.docx)** or **PDF** file. For voice notes you can choose which sections to include — the AI summary, your typed notes, and the full transcript.
## Customize AI templates

Workspace administrators can tailor the AI templates under **Notes settings → Prompt templates**. There you can enable or disable templates, edit the prompts, reset a built-in template to its default, create custom templates, and test a prompt against a sample transcript before saving.
