# Add members to a project

## Give the right people access to the right projects

Members are external collaborators — translators, reviewers, clients — who work on your subtitles through the shared portal without a full TotalCtrl account. You control which projects each member can see, and whether they can edit or only view, with their **role**.
### The three roles

- **Full Access** — can add, edit, and delete *all* projects and their contents. Use this for a trusted lead. Full-access members are not scoped to specific projects — they always see everything.
- **Reviewer** — can edit captions in the projects you assign. Perfect for a translator or QA reviewer working on specific videos.
- **Read only** — can open and view the projects you assign, but can’t change anything. Good for a client sign-off.

### Invite members

- Go to **Video Hub → Members**.
- In **Invite members**, enter one or more email addresses (comma or space separated).
- Pick a **role**. If you choose *Reviewer* or *Read only*, a **project picker** appears — tick the projects that member should be able to reach. (For *Full Access* the picker is hidden because they get everything.)
- Click **Send invitations**. Each person receives an email with a secure link to the portal.

### Change a member’s projects or role later

Under **Active members**, change the role dropdown or tick/untick projects in the *Assigned projects* box, then click **Save**. Switching someone to *Full Access* removes the per-project scope; switching back to Reviewer/Read only lets you scope them again. Use the trash icon to revoke access entirely — their portal link stops working immediately.
### Notes

- Membership is workspace-wide: one portal, one link, and per-member project scoping — you don’t configure access project-by-project.
- Pending invitations appear under **Pending invitations** until accepted; you can revoke an invite before it’s used.
- The default role for new invites is set in **Portal settings**.
