# Standards Hub overview

## What Standards Hub does

Standards Hub is where your team defines how content should read across every TotalCtrl app. It holds three kinds of standards: a **glossary** of approved terminology, **style rules** for grammar and voice, and **tone profiles** that describe the personality of your writing. Once defined, these standards can be fed into AI-assisted content apps so generated text follows your house rules automatically.
## Packages

Everything in Standards Hub is organized into **Standards Packages**. A package groups a related set of glossary entries, style rules, and tone profiles, and defines a **primary language** plus optional **secondary languages**. You might keep one package for your marketing brand and another for technical documentation. When you open the hub you land on the Packages list; each package has a home page linking to its Glossary, Style Rules, Tone Profiles, App Connections, and Settings.
## The three building blocks

- **Glossary** — entries with one or more terms per language, each marked Preferred, Admitted, Deprecated, or Forbidden. See [Create a glossary entry](create-a-glossary-entry).
- **Style rules** — guidance grouped by category (Voice, Grammar, Formatting, Terminology, Structure, Punctuation) with a severity. See [Create a style rule](create-a-style-rule).
