# Share a note with your team

**Updated:** 2026-08-19

## How sharing works

Notes are private to you by default. You can share an individual note with other people **in the same workspace**. Sharing applies to that one note only — it does not expose your notebook or your other notes.
## Share a note

- Open the note you want to share.
- Click the **Share** button in the editor toolbar.
- Choose a workspace member.
- Pick a permission level:
**View** — the person can read the note but not change it.
- **Edit** — the person can read and modify the note.

- Confirm. The recipient is notified that you shared the note with them.

## What recipients see

A note shared with someone appears in their own note lists alongside their personal notes, with the permission you granted. People with **edit** access can change content, color, tags, and notebook placement; people with **view** access see a read-only copy.
## Change or remove access

Reopen the share dialog to change a person's permission level, or remove their access entirely. Removing a share immediately revokes that person's access to the note.
