# Set your availability

## How availability works

An availability schedule defines the weekly hours during which people can book you. Each event type points at one schedule, so invitees only ever see times that fall inside it (and that also pass the event type's notice, buffer, and window rules).
## Create a schedule

- Go to **Availability** and click **New schedule**.
- Give it a **Name** (for example "Working hours" or "Mornings only").
- Set the **Timezone** the hours are defined in.
- For each day Monday through Sunday, enable it and set a **start** and **end** time. Disabled days offer no slots.

Your first schedule automatically becomes your **default**. To change the default later, open the Availability page and click **Set as default** on another schedule.
## Multiple schedules

You can keep several schedules and assign different ones to different event types — for example tighter hours for long meetings and wider hours for quick calls. You can't delete a schedule while an event type still uses it; reassign those event types first.
## One-off date changes

For a single day that differs from your weekly pattern — a holiday, a conference, or extra hours — use a **date override** instead of editing your whole schedule. See [Block or change specific dates](block-or-change-specific-dates).
