# Send files securely

## Create a new transfer

From the File Transfer dashboard, choose **New transfer**. Drag files onto the upload area or click to browse — you can add multiple files at once.
## Add details

- **Title** (optional) — e.g. `Q4 design assets`. Used as the ZIP filename when recipients download everything.
- **Message** (optional) — a short note shown to the recipient.
- **Send to** (optional) — paste email addresses, one per line. Each recipient is emailed the download link automatically.

## Set protections

- **Link expires in** — 1, 3, 7 (default), 14, or 30 days, or **Never**. After expiry the link stops working.
- **Download limit** (optional) — cap the total number of downloads. Leave blank for unlimited.
- **Password** (optional) — recipients must enter it before they can download. Leave blank for no password.

## Send

Click send. If any file exceeds the per-file limit, or the combined size passes the total-transfer limit, those files are skipped and you'll see a warning — the rest still go through. You're taken to the transfer's detail page, where you can copy the link and watch downloads roll in.
## After sending

You'll get an email and notification the first time the transfer is downloaded. To manage an existing transfer, see [Manage and revoke transfers](manage-and-revoke-transfers).
