# The answer library

## The part that compounds

Every time you approve an answer it is saved to the library under **Answering → Answer library**. The next questionnaire that asks the same thing gets that answer back immediately, in the wording a person already signed off.

This is why the tenth questionnaire costs a fraction of the first, and it is worth taking the approval step seriously for that reason alone.
### Adding entries by hand

You do not have to wait for a questionnaire. Add your standard answers — uptime, certifications, data residency, sub-processors — directly on the library page and the first questionnaire benefits.
### Why close matches are not reused

An answer is only reused when the question is a strong match. "Do you encrypt data at rest?" and "Do you encrypt data in transit?" are different commitments, and answering one with the other is a false statement to a buyer rather than a near miss. When in doubt the app writes a fresh answer instead.
### Keeping it honest

Library entries age. A certification lapses, an SLA changes, a sub-processor is dropped. Review the library periodically — the *Times used* and *Last used* columns show you which entries are actually shaping your submissions.
