# Record sales and connect Square POS

Perfect for bars, salons and retail: record over-the-counter sales, or import them automatically from Square.
## Record a sale manually

In *Accounting → Record Sale*, add lines (pick a stocked item or type a free description), choose cash or card, add tax, and save. Revenue posts to the ledger, and any stocked lines relieve inventory and post COGS.
## Connect Square

- Go to *Accounting → Settings → Point of Sale*.
- Click **Connect with Square** (or paste an access token; choose Production or Sandbox).
- Completed Square orders import as sales automatically — hourly, or with **Import sales now**. Items are matched to your inventory by name or SKU so COGS fires.

For near-real-time sync, add the webhook URL shown on the Square card to your Square app and paste the signature key. **Toast** and **Clover** are coming soon — click *Request access* to register interest.
