# Product Requests overview

## What Product Requests does

Product Requests lets you collect, prioritize, and roadmap customer feature ideas on public **boards**. Customers submit requests, vote on the ones that matter to them, and follow along as your team moves each idea through a public status pipeline — from *New* all the way to *Shipped*.
## Boards

A board is a self-contained, public-facing site for collecting requests. You can run one board for all feedback, or several (for example, one per product line). Each board has its own name, tagline, branding color, URL slug, and an optional custom domain. You manage boards from the admin area and publish them for customers to visit.
## The lifecycle of a request

- A customer submits a request through your board's public submission form, answering guided discovery questions about the problem they face.
- The request appears on the board (optionally after you approve it) where other customers can **upvote** and comment.
- Your team reviews it, sets a status, adds a public **product response** and an ETA, and can ask the submitter a follow-up question.
- As the status changes, the public board reflects your roadmap automatically.

## Statuses

Requests move through: `New`, `Under Review`, `Planned`, `In Progress`, `Shipped`, `Declined`, and `Deferred`.
