# Who can see a chart

**Category:** [Org Charts](https://help.totalctrl.app/hc/totalctrl/totalctrl-help-center/en-US/categories/org-charts-1)
**Updated:** 2026-10-04

## Two settings

- **Private** — only you, the person who created it. This is the default, because a chart is often a draft of a change that has not been announced.
- **Everyone in the workspace** — any colleague who has the Org Charts app can open it.

There is no per-person sharing and no per-box permission: a chart is one drawing, and it is either yours or the workspace's.
## Who can change one

The person who created a chart, and workspace admins. An admin can edit or delete any chart so that work does not become unreachable when somebody leaves.
## Private does not mean hidden from an embed

This is the one thing worth reading twice. If a live embed is on, the embed link works for anybody who has it, whatever the chart's visibility says — the link IS the permission.

Two things turn it on: the **Live embed** switch, and **Export to Wiki**, which needs it to display the chart on the page it creates. See *Sharing a chart*.
