# Troubleshooting notifications

## I'm not getting notifications I expect

Open the bell's **preferences** (gear icon) and check that **In-app** is on for that category. If **Task updates** is switched off, finished-job notifications won't appear in your tray.
## I'm not seeing usage, credit, or sync alerts

Those categories — **Usage & limits**, **Credits added**, and **Sync & system** — are sent to **workspace admins**. If you're not an admin, you won't see them, and that's expected. Ask a workspace admin if you need to act on one.
## The bell count won't clear

The number is your count of *unread* notifications. Click **Mark all read** in the tray to reset it. Dismissing items also lowers the count.
## I'm getting emails I don't want (or none at all)

Each category has a separate **Email** switch in preferences. Turn it off to stop the emails for that category while still seeing them in the bell — or on, if you'd like both.
## Updates seem delayed

Notifications normally appear instantly, and the tray also refreshes on its own about once a minute — so even if a live update is delayed, you'll see it shortly. Reopening the bell always fetches the latest.
## A finished task never notified me

Open the app where you started the task and check its status there — the result is always available in the app itself, whether or not the notification reached you. If a background job failed, you'll usually see a matching "failed" notification with the reason.
