# Notification preferences

## Choosing what you hear about

You control which notifications reach you and how. Open **preferences** from the gear icon at the top of the notification tray, or the **Preferences** button on the *See all notifications* page.
## In-app and email, per category

Notifications are grouped into a few categories, and each has two independent switches:

- **In-app** — show it in the bell / tray.
- **Email** — also send you an email about it.

Turn either one off for any category. For example, keep **Task updates** in the bell but turn off their emails, or turn a category off entirely if you'd rather not hear about it. Emails also respect any digest schedule you've set, so you can receive them immediately or rolled up.
## The categories

- **Task updates** — background work you started (dubbing, transcription, SDK builds, course generation, imports).
- **Usage & limits** — approaching a plan limit, like AI Units.
- **Credits added** — extra capacity added to your workspace.
- **Sync & system** — a connected integration stops syncing and needs attention.

The last three are shown to **workspace admins**, since those alerts are aimed at the people who manage the account. Everyone can tune **Task updates**.
## Your settings only

Preferences apply to **you** and no one else. Changing them never affects what teammates receive.
