# Newsletter overview

## What Newsletter does

Newsletter lets you build an email list and send recurring email campaigns to your subscribers. Each newsletter is a publication with its own subscribers, branding, sending identity, and stream of **editions** (individual sends). You can run as many separate newsletters as you like inside your account.
## The core building blocks

- **Newsletter** — the publication itself: name, description, from name, footer, accent color, and logo.
- **Editions** — the emails you write and send. An edition moves through `draft`, `scheduled`, `sending`, and `sent`.
- **Subscribers** — the people on your list, each with a status of `active`, `pending`, `unsubscribed`, `bounced`, or `complained`.
- **Analytics** — opens, clicks, deliveries, and subscriber growth for each sent edition.

## How people join your list

Subscribers can sign up through your hosted subscribe page, an embeddable widget you drop into any website, a CSV import, or a manual add. You can require double opt-in for form sign-ups so new addresses confirm before they go active.
## How it connects to the rest of TotalCtrl

Every subscriber is automatically linked to your CRM contacts and the shared contact directory, so newsletter activity shows up alongside the rest of a person's history.
