# Issue links expand into cards

**Category:** [Slack for Issue Tracking](https://help.totalctrl.app/hc/totalctrl/totalctrl-help-center/en-US/categories/issues-slack)
**Updated:** 2026-10-04

## What happens

Paste a link to an issue into any channel the app can see, and Slack replaces the bare URL with a card: the issue key and title, its priority and status, and who it is assigned to.
## If a link stays bare

- **The app is not in that channel.** Slack only tells an app about links in channels it belongs to.
- **The link is not to an issue.** Only issue detail links expand.
- **Slack shows each unique link once.** Posting the same link again in the same conversation is not expanded a second time — that is Slack's behavior, not a fault in the integration.

## Who can see the card

Everybody in the channel, whether or not they have a TotalCtrl account. The card repeats the issue's title and status, so treat a channel where you paste links as a place those are readable.
