# Issue Tracking overview

## What Issue Tracking does

Issue Tracking is where your team plans, tracks, and ships work. Everything is organized into **projects**, and every project has a short **key** (like `WEB` or `APP`). Issues are numbered per project, so each one has a unique identifier such as `WEB-42` that you can reference anywhere.
## Projects and views

Open a project and you can switch between three views of the same work:

- **List** — a flat, sortable table of every issue (the default view).
- **Board** — a Kanban board with one column per workflow status. Move issues between columns to change their status.
- **Backlog** — unstarted and triage work, plus the active sprint, so you can plan what comes next.

## Organizing work

Issues carry a **type** (task, bug, and so on), a **priority**, an **assignee**, and optional **labels**. You can group them into **epics** and **milestones**, run **sprints**, and roll several projects up under tenant-wide **initiatives**.
