# Find anything with universal search

**Category:** [Getting Started](https://help.totalctrl.app/hc/totalctrl/totalctrl-help-center/en-US/categories/getting-started)
**Updated:** 2026-08-19

The command palette searches across every app you can access — records, people, and apps — from one box.
## Open it

Click the search bar at the top of any page, or press the search shortcut. Start typing and results appear grouped by source.
## What it searches

- **Apps** — jump straight to any app by name (these appear at the top).
- **Your data** — CRM contacts and deals, projects and tasks, issues, notes, wiki pages, support tickets, invoices, and more.
- **People** — teammates in your workspace (admins and managers).
- **Help Center** — relevant articles appear at the bottom.

## Recent items

Open the palette without typing to see what you recently worked on, so you can jump back in with one click.
