# Employee Directory overview

The Employee Directory is your company's internal people layer: a searchable list of everyone in your workspace, with rich profile cards and an org chart that's built automatically from reporting lines.
## What it gives you

- **Profile cards** — photo, title, department, manager, location, pronouns, contact details, skills, and a bio.
- **Fast search** — find anyone by name, title, department, location, or skill.
- **A live org chart** — drawn from manager relationships, with zoom, expand/collapse, and PNG/SVG export.
- **Automatic provisioning** — keep it current via SCIM from your identity provider, or by syncing your HRIS.

## Who can do what

Everyone with access can browse the directory and edit their own profile. Admins manage departments, custom fields, locked fields, and the integrations.
## A consumer of identity, not another login

The directory does not replace your identity provider. It *receives* people from Okta, Microsoft Entra, or your HRIS — so it's always up to date without being one more account to manage.
