# History and undo

**Category:** [Data Tables](https://help.totalctrl.app/hc/totalctrl/totalctrl-help-center/en-US/categories/data-tables)
**Updated:** 2026-10-04

## Everything is recorded

Every change — a cell edit, an import, a column added or deleted, a bulk tidy, an export — is one entry in **History**, with who did it and when. That record is permanent.
## The last 50 changes can be undone

Undo restores the table, not just the log entry: deleted rows come back with their values, a reverted find-and-replace puts every prior value back, an undone import removes exactly the rows it added.

Older entries stay in History for the record but can no longer be undone — the detail needed to reverse them is not kept for ever.
## Undo happens once

An entry can be undone a single time, and the undo is itself recorded. There is no redo: to put a change back, make it again.
## Exports are in there too

Who took a copy of the table, when, and in what format. For a table holding supplier rates or staff details that is often the more useful half of the record.
