# Create and manage issues

## Create an issue

Inside a project, click **New issue**. Only a **title** is required. You can also set the **type** (task, bug, etc.), **priority**, **assignee**, **status**, **due date**, **estimate**, and attach it to an **epic** or **milestone**. Add **labels** and fill in any **custom fields** that apply. The issue gets the next number in the project, giving it an identifier like `WEB-42`.
## Work the issue

On the issue detail page you can edit fields inline, change **status** (moving an issue to a terminal status like Done records it as resolved), and break work down into **sub-issues**. Use **comments** to discuss, and upload **attachments** directly on the issue.
## Link related work

Add a **relation** to connect issues — reference the target by its identifier (`KEY-NUM`). Relations can cross projects within your account.
## Stay in the loop

- **Watch** an issue to follow its activity.
- Assignees and reporters are notified on assignment, status changes, and comments.
- **Archive** an issue to hide it from boards and lists without deleting it.

If your project has Time Tracking enabled, you can also start and stop a timer or log hours directly from the issue. Use the **Search** page to find any issue by title or description across all your projects.
