# Create your first Standards Package

## Why packages come first

A **Standards Package** is the container for your glossary, style rules, and tone profiles. You create one before adding any content, and you choose its languages up front so every term and rule can be authored in the right locales.
## Create a package

- Open Standards Hub and go to the **Packages** list.
- Click **New Package**.
- Enter a **Name** (required). A URL slug is generated automatically and made unique within your account.
- Optionally add a **Description**.
- Choose a **Primary language** and tick any **Secondary languages** you want to support. Secondary languages that match the primary are ignored.
- Click save. You are taken to the package home page.

## The package home page

From here you can open the four sections of the package — **Glossary**, **Style Rules**, **Tone Profiles**, and **App Connections** — and reach **Settings**.
## Editing and deleting

Open **Settings** on any package to rename it, change its description, or adjust its primary and secondary languages. The settings page also contains a danger zone: the **Delete** action removes the package permanently, so use it with care.
