# Create a project

## Start a new project

From the Issue Tracking home page, click **New project**. A project is the container for a related stream of work and gives its issues a numbering scheme.
## Fill in the details

- **Name** — the human-readable project name (required).
- **Key** — a short uppercase code such as `WEB` (required and unique). It prefixes every issue identifier, e.g. `WEB-1`.
- **Description**, **color**, and **icon** for quick visual recognition.
- **Workflow** — the set of statuses issues move through. Leave it blank to use the tenant's default workflow (Backlog, Todo, In Progress, In Review, Done, Cancelled), or pick a custom one.

When you create the project you are automatically added as its **owner**.
## Add and invite your team

Open the project's **Members** page to add existing users or invite new people by email. Access is per project: account admins and managers see every project, while everyone else needs to be a member. Each member has a role — **owner**, **admin**, **member**, or **viewer**. Email invitations include a secure link and expire after 7 days; you can revoke any invite that has not yet been accepted.
## Adjust settings later

Open **Settings** on any project to change its name, lead, target date, workflow, and privacy.
