# Create a glossary entry

## What a glossary entry is

A glossary **entry** is a single concept identified by a **slug** that is unique across your account. Each entry holds one or more **terms** — the actual words used for that concept — and you can add a term per language.
## Create the entry

- Open the **Glossary** for your package and click **New entry** (or add one from the global glossary).
- Enter a **Slug** (required) and, optionally, a **Domain** and **Subject area** to help organize and filter entries.
- Enter the initial **Term** text (required, created in English) and an optional **Definition**.
- Save. You land on the entry editor with language tabs.

## Add terms in other languages

On the entry editor, add a term for any language your package supports. For each term you can set:

- **Status** — `Preferred`, `Admitted`, `Deprecated`, or `Forbidden`.
- **Definition**, **usage note**, and **abbreviation**.
- **Do not translate** and **Do not change** flags for terms like brand names that must stay fixed.

## Find and filter
