# Create a board

## Create your first board

A board is the public site where customers submit and vote on requests. To create one, open the Product Requests admin area and choose **New board**.
## What you'll set

- **Board name** (required) — shown as the heading on the public board, e.g. *Feature Requests*. A URL `slug` is generated automatically from the name and made unique.
- **Tagline** — an optional one-line description shown under the name.
- **Authentication mode** — how visitors access the board: `public` (no login), `register` (self-register with email and password), or `sso` (require your tenant's SAML/OIDC sign-in).
- **Board mode** — `community` (anyone can submit, vote, and see all requests) or `account` (a per-account view linked to your CRM/CSM accounts).

## After creating

You'll land on the board's detail page, which lists incoming requests. New boards are published by default, so the public board and submission form are immediately reachable at the board's slug. Before sharing the link widely, review the settings — voting, comments, anonymous submission, and approval — described in [Configure board settings and branding](configure-board-settings-and-branding).
## Sharing the board

Customers visit the board at its public URL and use the **Submit a Feature Request** button to add ideas. To learn how submission works, see [Collect requests from customers](/hc/product-requests/collect-requests-from-customers).
