# Configure survey settings

## Where settings live

Open a survey and go to **Edit** to control how it behaves for respondents. These options apply to both the shared link and the embedded version.
## Available options

- **Title and description** — shown at the top of the public survey. The title is required.
- **Thank-you message** — displayed after someone submits. If you leave it blank, it defaults to "Thank you for completing this survey!"
- **Collect email** — asks respondents for their email address. Collected emails are what link responses to your CRM and Support apps.
- **One response per email** — blocks a respondent from submitting twice with the same email. Anyone who tries again sees an "already submitted" message.
- **Show progress bar** — displays how far along the respondent is.

## Required questions

Required questions are enforced when someone submits. If a required question is left blank (or no option is picked for a multiple-choice question), the form is rejected with a clear error and nothing is saved.
## Save and continue

Saving returns you to the Builder. When your questions and settings are ready, head to [Publish and distribute a survey](publish-and-distribute-a-survey).
