# Configure board settings and branding

## Opening settings

From a board, open **Settings** to control how the board looks and behaves. Settings are grouped so you can manage general options, custom fields, and a custom domain separately.
## General options

- **Name** and **tagline** — the board's public identity.
- **Authentication mode** and **board mode** — public/register/SSO access and community/account scope.
- **Allow downvotes** — let visitors vote a request down as well as up.
- **Show vote count** — display tallies publicly.
- **Allow comments** — enable public discussion on each request.
- **Allow anonymous submit** — let visitors submit without identifying themselves.
- **Require approval** — hold new requests for moderation before they appear publicly.
- **Require account association** — registered users must be linked to a CRM/CSM account to access the board.
- **Published** — controls whether the public board is live.

## Branding

Set a **primary color** to theme the public board and submission form. For deeper control you can add **custom CSS** that is injected into the public pages.
## Publishing

When **Published** is on, the public board and submission form are reachable at the board's slug. Turn it off to take the board offline without deleting any data.
