# Enabling auto-sync and using Sync now

**Category:** [CCMS](https://help.totalctrl.app/hc/totalctrl/totalctrl-help-center/en-US/categories/ccms)
**Updated:** 2026-08-19

## Where to configure it

Open your CCMS project's **Settings** and find the **String Manager Sync** card.
### Auto-sync on publish

Turn on *Automatically sync each time a publication is published* to have the sync run in the background whenever you publish a publication. Only published topics are included.
### Sync now

Use the **Sync now** button to run a sync immediately. You'll see how many published topics were processed and how many string segments were created or updated. The card also shows the linked string set and the last sync time.
### Automation

Each sync fires the `ccms.strings.synced` webhook and the *CCMS Synced to String Manager* Orchestration trigger. AI assistants can trigger a sync with the `ccms_sync_strings` MCP tool.
