# Fonts: web-safe and web fonts

## Choosing fonts

Open **Standards → Brand & Standards → Brand Kit** and edit a kit. Under **Typography** you can set a **Heading font**, a **Body font**, and a base font size. The live preview updates as you choose.
## Web-safe vs. web fonts

The dropdowns are grouped to make the trade-off clear:

- **Web-safe fonts** — System, Arial, Helvetica, Verdana, Tahoma, Trebuchet MS, Georgia, Times New Roman, Garamond, Palatino, Courier, and Monospace. These are installed on virtually every device, so they render instantly everywhere with no download — including in email.
- **Web fonts** (marked “(web)”) — Inter, Roboto, Open Sans, Poppins, Montserrat, Nunito, Work Sans, Lora, Merriweather, Playfair Display, and Roboto Slab. On web pages these load automatically from Google Fonts. In email, where web fonts aren't supported, they fall back to a sensible standard stack.

## One font list everywhere

The Brand Kit is the single source of fonts across TotalCtrl. The same list powers your Website, Product Request portals, branded emails, and anywhere else a kit is applied — so a font you pick here looks consistent across every surface.
