# Connecting Atlassian (Jira & Confluence)

TotalCtrl connects to **Atlassian Cloud** once and uses that single connection for **both Jira and Confluence**. Connect it and you can migrate work off Jira, push tickets to Jira from elsewhere in TotalCtrl, import Confluence spaces into your Wiki, and publish Wiki pages back to Confluence.
## Before you start

- You need access to the **Issue Tracking** app (and **Wiki** for the Confluence features).
- A platform administrator must have set up the Atlassian app for your account. If it hasn't been set up yet, the Jira card shows *Not available yet* with a **Request Access** button — use it and we'll prioritise enabling it.
- You'll sign in with an Atlassian account that can see the Jira projects and Confluence spaces you want to work with. TotalCtrl can only ever see what that account can see.

## Connect

- Go to **Issue Tracking → Integrations** (or **Connections**) and open the **Jira** card.
- Click **Connect with Atlassian** and approve the access request.
- You'll come back to TotalCtrl showing your Atlassian site as connected.

Use **Test** at any time to confirm the connection is healthy — it shows which Atlassian user TotalCtrl is acting as.
## What TotalCtrl asks for

Read and write access to Jira work items and Confluence content, plus permission to stay connected so you don't have to re-authorise every hour. Credentials are encrypted and never shown again after connecting.
## One connection, whole workspace

The connection belongs to the workspace, not to you personally — once it's connected, teammates with the right app access can use it too. Disconnecting stops all Jira and Confluence features; anything already imported stays in TotalCtrl.
