# Uploading large files (up to 5 GB)

## Big files, no proxy limits

Digital Assets supports single files up to **5 GB**. Large uploads go **directly to storage** from your browser using a presigned URL, bypassing the usual proxy size limits — the same technique the Video Hub uses for large video.
## How it works

- Pick your files on the **Upload** page as usual.
- Each file is uploaded straight to secure object storage; a progress bar shows the transfer.
- Once the transfer finishes, the asset records are created and appear in your library.

If direct-to-storage isn't available in your deployment, uploads fall back to a normal server upload automatically. Very large files upload fastest on a stable connection — keep the tab open until the progress bar completes.
