# Exactly what stops working

## Every AI feature, in every app

The switch is not a per-app setting. It covers:

- **Drafting, rewriting and summarising** — anywhere you see a Suggest, Draft, Improve or Summarise button.
- **The AI assistant** in the dashboard.
- **Customer-facing chat agents**. Visitors are told the assistant is unavailable rather than seeing an error; escalation to a human still works.
- **Semantic search**. Searching by meaning stops; keyword search carries on.
- **Indexing knowledge sources**. Existing indexes stay, but new material is not embedded until AI is on again.
- **Transcription and subtitles**, including voice notes and Video Hub.
- **AI dubbing.**
- **AI image and video generation**, including the AI tabs in the Insert Media picker.
- **RFP answer drafting.** Reusing an approved answer from your library still works — that is your own text, and no model is involved.

### What keeps working

Everything else. The switch turns off AI, not features:

- All your data stays exactly where it is. Nothing is deleted.
- Answers, transcripts, summaries and images already produced remain, and stay editable.
- Subtitle burn-in and video composition still run — those are video processing, not AI.
- Email, CRM, projects, support, invoicing, e-signature and every other app work normally.

### How things behave with AI off

Features degrade rather than break. A drafting action reports that AI is unavailable, an assistant panel says so, and a background job that would have called a model records that it was skipped. You should not see errors — if you do, please tell us, because that is a bug.
