# Importing SCORM / xAPI and building quizzes

## Import content from any authoring tool

Academy plays **SCORM 1.2**, **SCORM 2004**, and **xAPI (Tin Can)** packages — the universal formats exported by Articulate Storyline/Rise, Adobe Captivate, iSpring, Lectora, and most authoring tools.
### How to import

- Add a lesson and set its type to **SCORM**.
- Save the lesson, then use **Import SCORM / xAPI package** to upload the `.zip` you exported.
- Academy detects the version, finds the launch file, and unpacks the content.

When a learner opens the lesson, the package runs in the player and reports progress, completion, and scores back to Academy automatically (via the SCORM JavaScript API or the built-in xAPI LRS). Completing the package marks the lesson done and rolls into the course's overall progress.
## Native quizzes

For simple assessments you don't need an external tool. Set a lesson's type to **Quiz**, then **Manage Questions** to add single- or multi-select questions (mark correct answers with a leading `*`). Set a pass mark on the lesson; when a learner scores at or above it, the lesson is marked complete.
