# Members and guest access

## Adding people to a course

Each course has a **Members** page. You can:

- **Invite by email** — brand-new people get a single-app *guest* account scoped to your academy when they accept; they never see the rest of your workspace and aren't a billed seat.
- **Add an existing workspace user** directly from a picker, with a role.

Anyone added — including existing users and guests — always receives an email letting them know.
### Roles

- **Owner** — the course creator; full control.
- **Instructor** — can edit the course and manage members.
- **Student** — takes the course.
- **Viewer** — read-only access.

Change a member's role inline from the table, remove members, or revoke a pending invitation.
