# Export a course as SCORM or xAPI

## Take a course to another LMS

You can export any course as a standards-based package that other learning platforms can import. Open a course and go to **Settings & Export** — the settings page now has two tabs, **General** (the course settings you already know) and **Export**.
### Download a package

On the **Export** tab, choose a format and the `.zip` downloads immediately:

- **SCORM 1.2** — the most widely supported e-learning package format.
- **xAPI (Tin Can)** — for platforms and LRSs that use xAPI.

Both are built on the spot; there's no waiting or background job.
### What's in the package

The package is a single, self-contained unit covering the whole course: a lesson table of contents and one section per lesson.

- **HTML lessons** export in full.
- **Quiz lessons** export as static self-check questions, showing the correct answers, any per-option feedback, and the explanation.
- **Video lessons** export their embed link.
- **Imported SCORM lessons** are noted but not re-bundled (their original package isn't included).

### How completion is reported

The package includes a small runtime that tells the host LMS when the learner finishes. In a SCORM package it uses the SCORM 1.2 API to mark the course complete; in an xAPI package it sends a *completed* statement to the LRS using the launch details the platform provides. Learners click **Mark course complete** at the bottom of the course to trigger it.
### Good to know

This is a one-way export for use in other systems — it doesn't sync back. Re-export any time you change the course to get an up-to-date package.
