# Creating courses, sections, and lessons

## Build a course

- From **Courses**, create a new course (title, summary, visibility). The form follows your default **Course Template**.
- On the course's **Curriculum** page, add **sections** and **lessons**.
- Each lesson has a type: **HTML** (rich text), **Video** (embed URL), **SCORM/xAPI** (an imported package), or **Quiz**.
- When you have at least one lesson, click **Publish** to make the course available.

### Editing

Use the pencil and trash icons on each lesson and section to edit or delete. Deletes ask for confirmation in a modal — nothing is removed without a confirm.
### Course Settings

A course's **Settings** page controls its title, summary, description, visibility (Public or Members), the **Course Template** it uses, and any custom field values. It's also where you delete the course.
