# AI in Academy: authoring, the tutor, and insights

## AI built into Academy

Academy's AI features all use the model your workspace selects in **AI & LLMs** settings — so you control the provider and model, and usage counts against your workspace.
### Draft a course with AI

On the **Courses** page, **Draft with AI** turns a topic, audience, and level into a full course outline — title, summary, and a module/lesson structure. Review it, then create the course; modules and lessons are built for you to flesh out.
### Draft a lesson with AI

In the lesson editor, **Draft with AI** writes the lesson's content from its title and course context. Review and edit before saving.
### Generate quiz questions with AI

In a quiz lesson, **Generate with AI** drafts questions from your course content (or pasted source) across every question type — single/multiple choice, true/false, and short answer — with correct answers and explanations. Review, then add them to the quiz.
### AI course tutor (optional)

Turn on **Enable the AI course tutor** in Academy Settings to give learners a chat assistant in the course player. It answers questions *grounded in that course's content only* and cites the lessons it used. It's off by default; enable it per academy.
### Tutor usage reporting

Each course's **Tutor usage** tab shows how much the tutor is used — total questions, unique learners, the answered rate, the top questions, the most active learners, and recent activity — so you can see what learners struggle with and improve your content. The same usage also appears as metrics in the **Analytics** app.
### AI report insights

On a course's **Report**, **AI insights** summarizes enrollment and quiz performance in plain language — including the questions learners miss most — with concrete suggestions to improve completion and comprehension.
